YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
As a Junior Data Science Engineer at Medialab, you will join our rapidly evolving data team, responsible for developing and maintaining the tools and pipelines that support our modelling capabilities.
You will gain invaluable experience in Python development, model automation, and data engineering, supporting data scientists in their work to create impactful insights.
You will be part of a close-knit and friendly team who share results and celebrate success together. This placement offers hands-on technical experience and a fantastic learning opportunity to work with real-world data and modern technologies.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Support the development and maintenance of data science tools, improving automation, efficiency, and scalability.
- Work closely with data scientists and business stakeholders to refine and enhance our internal modelling and data analysis tools.
- Optimise and maintain data pipelines and model automation, ensuring seamless integration with data science models.
- Implement and improve machine learning workflows, supporting the deployment and monitoring of models.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by working on ingestion, transformation, and validation processes.
- Maintain clear documentation to support best practices for tool usage and development.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
Must Have Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, with knowledge of popular libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Strong Excel and MS Office usage.
- Exposure to SQL for querying and managing structured datasets.
- Theoretical understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical techniques.
- Strong data manipulation skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with Git, cloud deployment and Airflow would be an advantage.
