THE OPPORTUNITY:

This role lives within the Marketing Effectiveness team at Medialab, where their measurement solutions and modelling expertise help a diverse client-set understand the true value of their media investment, create compelling data stories on how to drive growth, and automate the insights into the planning cycle through their advance and integrated tech stack. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Effectiveness, the role will see you leading modelling workstreams, ensure quality control of related outputs, performing statistical modelling and integrate research insight from a wide variety of sources to answer client challenges. Insights must then be delivered in a practical and timely manner in conjunction with the wider team.

The role will see you both support existing teams’ members and help advance their modelling skills, whilst surrounded by industry experts and buying teams to advance your own skills as you work with clients you can really feel passionate about.

Our business is built around our unique marketing intelligence platform Apollo – a technology that turns data into insights we can act on. Importantly, this tool centralises and automates the data collection process, meaning our modelling team can focus on developing the story and strategy to be recommend to clients, rather than data processing typically associated with these roles.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Lead end-to-end Marketing Mix Modelling/econometrics projects, from Initial model development to insights generation and data storytelling.

• Specialise as an effectiveness consultant, working closely with client team’s to ensure frameworks are fit-for-purpose and answer client challenges

• The Principal Consultant (PC) is expected to develop deep expertise in the sector and be a the key go-to person for a diverse set of clients and client team planners/buyers

• Responsible for development of client presentation material alongside the senior team

• Lead on business effort and revenue pipeline within assigned client list – This includes identifying new business opportunities (existing client- or new), writing proposals, creating thought leadership and involvement in pitches.

• Further, Innovate, develop, and streamline the automated modelling process – working closely with the in-house engineering teams to make your plans a reality

• Be an ambassador for Medialab, connecting across external/internal stakeholders to deliver value by building a good reputation in the industry

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Hands-on experience in delivering media measurement and effectiveness results using Marketing Mix Modelling/econometrics techniques (Min 7 years+).

• Consulting/client problem-solving experience, a solid understanding of how measurement frameworks can help clients with insights that make a real difference to grow their business

• Responsible for the line management of other consultants/data scientists

• Strong working knowledge of advertising, able to work closely with media planners/buyers and align analytical insights, to practical application of results

• Solid experience in handling and analysing data, willing to use a range of tools/approaches to problem best answer the clients’ challenges

• Experience in project management throughout delivery stages of using statistical techniques in a commercial environment

• Significant experience in a marketing, media or business planning environment.

• A passion for media and marketing and motivated by new channel mediums and related measurement challenges
  

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• Able to interpret a client’s requirements and deploy commercially relevant analytical insight solutions

• A proven track record in the successful use of statistical techniques in a commercial environment - An appreciation of business principles

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal – the ability to present and explain complex information clearly to people at all levels

• Task-oriented, ownership of the steps required to achieve the ultimate client challenge set

• Curious, yet analytical; able to explore new approaches or data sources to improve results

• A team player, willing to contribute and integrate with the existing team and skills sets (consultants, engineers, media planners, buying teams and other vertical specialists)

• Open to a range of toolsets and/or a keen coder, who enjoys being hands-on with the development side of analytics as required (SQL, R/Python, AWS/GCP or visual tools)

• Model automation and/or system integration experience would be beneficial

• Experience with the charity Sector, and/or Financial Services would be beneficial given our client set
